Got a friend?

When I was a little kid, I was very lonely.  So I made up a pretend friend named Papo.  He was always with me.  Today, I recognize how fortunate I am, because my wife, Janet, is my best friend.  I treasure her company.  Next to her, our children are my best friends.  Next to them, my parents are my best friends.  A best friend is a blessing.

Do you have a best friend?  It’s better to have one true friend than all the acquaintances in the world.  Here’s my prescription: If you don’t have a best friend, pray for one.  Search for one.  Meet people with similar values.  As you do, look for that best friend God has in mind for you.  A Christian friend is the light of Christ shining upon you.  It’s your best friend, Jesus, visiting you through your best friend.
